Speaking Of Dots…
We do love a badass chick with a vision. Yayoi Kusama has been creating works of art in painting, collage, sculpture, performance art and environmental installations, most of “which exhibit her thematic interest in psychedelic colors, repetition and pattern.” Kusama emerged on the art scene in the late 60s among some of the greatest conceptual artists of the time, such as Andy Warhol, and Ernst Fuchs.
It’s no Fillmore concert poster, but we think it’s hella cool!
"Bring on Picasso, bring on Matisse, bring on anybody! I would stand up to them all with a single polka dot."
Baby, step into heaven with the help of Yayoi Kusama, now at the David Zwirner Gallery till December 21, 2013.
